1:1 Behaviour Intervention
The nature of 1:1 Behaviour Intervention is highly intensive to give children the extra attention and repetition they need to close the developmental gap with that of their peers. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), an ABA therapist works solely with your child, targeting goals outlined in their treatment plan. While every child's goals are different, the focus of 1:1 Behaviour Intervention is typically on decreasing behaviours that are harmful and increasing academics, communication, daily living, motor, and play/leisure skills.
SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP
What are the do’s and don’ts of making and keeping friends? How do you read body language? What’s the best way to keep a conversation going? Whereas many children learn these basic skills simply by exposure to social situations, children with autism often need to be taught skills explicitly, and as early as possible. Delivered in centre by ABA therapists and overseen by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), our social skills groups offer a comfortable setting for school-age children to develop and practice their social skills with peers on a weekly basis.
LEARNING CENTRE
Gateway Learning Centre is an alternative education option serving grades K-12 in Prince George and the surrounding area. We provide a structured learning environment, low student-to-staff ratios, and specialized programming with an emphasis on individualized academic instruction. Our staff of ABA therapists focus on utilizing antecedent strategies and reinforcement to achieve desired learning outcomes and reduce harmful behaviours.
VIRTUAL CONSULTATION
We bring ABA services to you! Virtual Consultation offers a valuable alternative to centre-based services and closes the gap between those in need and the experts available to help. Through the use of video conferencing, our Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) provide real-time consultation across geographical distances. Parents wishing to take a lead role in their child’s therapy are given the tools to confidently deliver skill acquisition programs and behaviour management strategies.
We also provide consultation for families who prefer to employ their own team of therapists for an in-home ABA program. Our BCBAs will develop a treatment plan, oversee the program, and regularly offer feedback via video conferencing to ensure progress.
